Built-in 24" Dishwashers Prices, Reviews and Specifications

The most common type of dishwasher, a built-in is installed under a kitchen counter in an opening between cabinets. The standard space available is about 34" high, 24" deep and 24" wide, so most built-in dishwashers fit within those dimensions. (For kitchens with narrower openings, 18" built-ins are available.) To maximize the interior space without making the unit any larger, dishwasher manufacturers are increasingly switching from standard-size tubs with an access panel in front, between the bottom of the door and the toe-kick panel, to a tall tub design that eliminates the access panel, creating a more stylish appearance and more interior space, but also lowering the height of the open door.

Amana ADB1000AWW 24" Built-In Dishwasher
$224-$329
The Amana ADB1000AWW is a basic, standard-tub-height dishwasher that should get household dishes clean at a relatively low cost. It doesn't come with the extensive sound-damping insulation found on higher-end models, but should be a bit quieter than older dishwashers. The ADB1000AWW does have a heated dry option to reduce spotting; it can gently heat dishes at the end of the cycle so they go on the dining table warm; and the rinse-only cycle can be used to clean lightly soiled dishes when there isn't enough for a full load.
