The Gaggia Classic is a stainless steel pump espresso maker that offers versatility. The espresso machine comes with two filter holders -- one for a single shot and one for a double shot, as well as a tamper for packing both. The filters accept ESE (Easy Serve Espresso) pods or ground coffee. The machine also has a hot water dispenser for tea and a frothing wand for milk. The water reservoir on the Gaggia Classic can hold more than 70 ounces of water, capable of brewing more than a dozen cups before needing a refill.

What People Are Saying:

Consumer Reports did not review the Gaggia Classic, but ConsumerSearch.com named it the "Best Value Espresso Machine" in 2011. Reviews say the machine produces one of the best-tasting espressos outside of professional coffee shops. It's called convenient and reliable, standing the test of time. Several user reviews note no problems with the machine after a matter of years, even decades. Gaggia calls the Classic one of its best-selling models. User reviews on Amazon are predominantly positive, with most users finding it fits daily needs well. Users said they felt like baristas in their own homes. The frothing wand was one area of contention -- some said it produces foamy milk in minutes; others said it was not built to last. The reviews on WholeLatteLove.com were even more effusive, with only one negative review out of the 69 posted. Consistent and reliable were the most frequent descriptors.
