The Whirlpool Gold WDT710PAYW dishwasher combines a relatively large capacity with an upper rack that can be adjusted up or down or removed altogether, plus folding tines, providing the flexibility to wash items of various sizes and shapes. It has a delay start option to begin the wash cycle up to four hours later; sensors to automatically choose the wash and dry settings; a seven-hour overnight cycle with an extended prewash soaking combined with a heavy-soil wash cycle; and the ability to wash a smaller load in just the top rack. Noise levels during operation should be about average, but relatively quiet compared to older dishwashers.

What People Are Saying:

Consumer Reports estimates that the 6-cycle WEDT710PAYW dishwasher is similar to and should provide the same results as the 5-cycle WDF530PAYW, which Consumer Reports rated excellent for energy use, very good for washing, and good (a somewhat mediocre ranking) for noise and ease of use. The WED1710PAYM is a best seller at Best Buy and Lowe's. User reviews are primarily positive, with about 70%-80% recommending this machine, saying it cleans well, runs quietly and provides a good variety of features for the price. Dissatisfied users report ongoing repair problems, particularly with the soil sensors that are supposed to automatically regulate the wash cycle based on how dirty the load is, and say this machine does not get the dishes clean.
