The Whirlpool WTW4800XQ is a traditional top-load washer for those who want a basic, conventional center-agitator machine without a lot of extras. It should handle moderate laundry needs for an average family, but items like a thick king-size comforter could mean a trip to a Laundromat. The WTW4800XQ has electronic dial controls and allows the user to choose the desired water level (rather than having it automatically set by sensors). Because of its relatively high spin speeds for a traditional top-load washer (700 rpm), this unit has a locking lid. Its agitation methods have been modified slightly to decrease the total amount of water used, so wash times vary from an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the settings chosen.
